Rector’s decree on: preventing the spread of COVID-19 virus among the community of VPU

DECREE NO. 176
THE RECTOR OF VINCENT POL UNIVERSITY IN LUBLIN
OF 24 MARCH 2020

on: preventing the spread of COVID-19 virus among the community of the Vincent Pol University in Lublin

Pursuant to the Regulation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of 23 March 2020 on temporary limitation of the functioning of some entities of the higher education in relation to the prevention, counteracting and combating of COVID-19, I extend the suspension of classes in traditional form at full-time, part-time and post-graduate studies until April 15 of this year.

Online classes are still ongoing through the University’s educational platform.

Practical classes which should take place in workshops and laboratories and are not possible to be conducted online, will be held at a later stage, after the break is over.

The Law on Higher Education stipulates that to pass an academic year or semester all practical classes must be completed and learning effects achieved. Students who do not get credits for particular classes may be enrolled conditionally for the next semester or academic year by the Dean upon their written request. These classes should be credited within the deadline specified by the Dean. The University authorities anticipate that it may be necessary to extend the classes to July. Pursuant to the decree on the organisation of the academic year, the summer semester together with the examination session ends on 30 September.

Further decisions regarding the implementation of classes in the current academic year will be made after the relevant decrees of the Minister of Science and Higher Education have been published.
